The Stack House is a contemporary, recently constructed home nestled into the hillside of Mount Washington. It was designed by architecture firm FreelandBuck and Marieke Ochtman of Urbanite Homes and has been featured in Dwell, Dezeen, and the Los Angeles Times, among other publications. The building is formed from layered cubes that intersect at varying angles, creating a wealth of outdoor space and light on each of the four levels. The third and fourth levels of the house comprise the main living space, with all the bedrooms and two beautiful bathrooms on the top level and the entrance to the private garden on the split level. Almost every room and balcony feature unobstructed views of the San Gabriel Mountains. On the first level is a two-car garage, and on the second level is an Accessory Dwelling Unit with a private entrance. Sustainable materials and smart home features are incorporated throughout Stack House, including an EV charger in the garage. The outdoor lighting and landscaping are all recently updated, and each of the bathrooms features designer fixtures from Waterworks. The residence is located within the desirable Mount Washington Elementary School district.
